Battle at Porkchop Hill

Lasting Effect.

Total U.S. casualties were 243 killed, 916 wounded, and nine captured. 163 of the dead were never recovered. Chinese casualties were estimated at 1,500 dead and 4,000 wounded. The Chinese suffered terrible losses, which probably explains why they lost the second battle. It will have an everlasting effect and it is known as one of the greatest battles of the Korean War. The effect was so great that they later made a movie.
